Frequently Asked Questions

Do you have a price list?

No. Unfortunately it would just be impossible to list each breed, and even if we could there are such huge variations within each breed in term of size and coat. It would go on for days.
instead we ask that you let us know what breed you have and we will give you a rough estimate based on the information you have given us.

I have a ............. breed dog, do you take them?

Yes we do. We take All breeds, yes including the XL Bully. We specifically sought specialised insurances so that we could ensure no dog was prohibited from visiting us.

if you think there may be a reason your dog might need a quiet appointment time or two members of staff. Just give us a call and we will have a chat to ensure they are booked appropriately.

How often should I book?

This depends on your dog, its coat and your budget.
we use premium professional products, so they are safe to be used daily if needed.
Typically we would advise that dogs keep to a routine grooming schedule. This helps to keep them clean and comfortable and ensures they are confident in the salon.
as a rough guide we recommend that wool/curly coated breeds are seen every 6 weeks.

Are nails included?

Yes. Nail trims are included in every groom.
We will trim to the Quick, this is the dogs nail bed and we cannot take it shorter than this. Some dogs have longer quicks than others, so may have naturally long nails.
Regular trims will encourage the quick to recede and we can then achieve a shorter neater nail.

when should I book my puppy in?

As soon as they have completed their puppy vaccinations, typically this is at 12 weeks.

Feel free to pop in and say hello before their courses is complete, but we advise that the puppy be carried and not placed on the floor. But it's great socialisation to swing by and have a treat.

Will my dog be featured on social media?

We love to share the lovely furry friends we meet via our social media pages. But these are always by permission of owners, if you would prefer not to have your dog shared, just let us know.

If they are shared, we do not show before photos or add their name.

why not?

We don't share before photos because dogs come to us needing a trim or clean. We are here to share how well we can make your dog look, not shame owners for not keeping them in pristine condition between grooms.

We don't share dogs names because some dogs are easily identifiable. By using their name on social media we open up the, admittedly small, opportunity to a dog theif to call that dog whilst in public. Their beautiful grooms speak for themselves, their owners know who they are. We don't need to share names too.

My dog doesn't get on with other dogs. Can they still have a groom?

Absolutely, yes they can. We appreciate you letting us know of any reactivity your dogs have. But we NEVER allow two unrelated dogs to meet whilst in the salon.

we also have a qualified canine behaviourist on the team, so we will always try to work with you and your dog to create a grooming experience that is safe for them and us.

My dog is matted, will you still take them?

Yes absolutely! We know that some grooming pages like to belittle or judge owners for matting on dogs. You will never find us doing that. Dogs run around in puddles and through bushes. They gets tangles and mats, it is part of life. Yes we encourage you to brush regularly, but even with brushing some dogs have fur that tangles.

Bringing your dog to a groomer should be an exercise in good responsible ownership, we are not going to make you feel bad for doing so.

we are a safe space where the only thing that will ever matter to us, is the welfare of your dog.

Can I wait and watch the groom?

It can be quite nerve wracking leaving your dog for the first time. We understand.

Our shop front is fully glassed so you can see the entirety of the grooming area.
we ask that owners who would like to watch, do so from across the road and where possible out of the eyesight of their dog.

Dogs love their humans and get excited when they see them. We are using large and very sharp equipment and a bouncy excited pooch is more likely to get hurt. And we just wouldn't forgive ourselves.

We are next door to a fab little Cafe, and there is a costa just round the corner. So lots of places to conveniently sit and wait for your furry best friend.

How do I know when to collect?

We are not a conveyor belt style grooming salon. When your dog comes in they will be bathed and groomed in one slot. Typically a groom takes 90minutes or so, depending on coat condition and drying time.
But we will always call or text to let you know that your dog is ready for collection.

Should I wait in LINGFIELD village?

T
here are lots of lovely places to visit in Lingfield, we are right next door to a cafe, we have a bakery across the road as well as lots of lovely shops. So staying in the area is always a great way to fill the time whilst your dog is being groomed. But don't feel you have to. We will give you a rough idea of how long the groom will take, if you want to go home for a cup of tea. Feel free. There is no rush to get back once we call you

What if I don't like the groom?

Just let us know! When you collect your dog, if there is anything you'd like us to change just tell us. We can alter as much as we can there and then.
If you'd like your dog slightly longer/shorter/ more rounded/ shaved etc next time then just let us know at the next appointment.

whilst we are more than happy to work on breed standard cuts, the most important thing about a groom is ensuring that the dog is comfortable and that it suits you and your lifestyle. Fluffy teddy bear styles look great, but not very practical for running through fields twice daily. So please feel free to let us know a bit about your life with your dog and what sort of style you think you'd prefer and we will work toward that.

How do I pay?

We accept cash or card, payment is made at collection.

You can also pay in advance of your groom if you feel that helps you budget more easily. Just speak to us in the salon and we can organise this with you.
